Catrin and Matt's wedding

[Cymraeg]

Hopefully there will be plenty of tales and photos of the wedding appearing here.

Here is a copy of the poem that Anwen, Carol, Cathryn, Gwawr and myself recited to Catrin and Matt. The poem was obviously written in Welsh, so the translation does not rhyme (unlike the Welsh version!)

I Catrin a Matt

Mae Catrin a Matt yn priodi,
Ac yma y deuwn i ddathlu
Yn Llanbedr, Powys
A Huw yn ei thywys
Yng nghwmni eu ffrindiau a’u teulu.

To Catrin and Matt

Catrin and Matt are getting married,
And here we come to celebrate,
To Llanbedr, Powys,
And Huw escorting here,
In the company of her friends and family.

Yn Aber y daethom i’w ‘nabod
Yn gweithio yn galed a chanfod
Pleserau y byd
A’r diodydd i gyd
Cafodd radd mae hynny yn syndod!

We got to know her in Aber
Working hard and discovering
Worldly pleasures
And all the drinks
She got a degree, that's quite a surprise!

I briodas yr aethant eu dau
I wledda, dawnsio, mwynhau
Yn sydyn, mewn enaid
Cyfarfu eu llygaid
Mae cariad ers hynny’n parhau.

They both went to a wedding
To feast, dance, enjoy
Suddenly, in a flash
Their eyes met
Love since then, continues.

Un handi yw Matt gyda’i ddwylo
Nid oedd yn hir cyn ei swyno
Ai forthwyl a’i gun
Ei fysyls a’i din
Mewn dim roedd wedi ei rhwymo.

Matt is handy with his hands
It wasn't long before he charmed her
His hammer and chisel
His muscles and bum
Before long he had bonded with her.

Yma yn griw llawn a llawen
O’r diwedd daeth terfyn i’r awen
Hir oes i’r cariad
Cyd yfwn i’r uniad
A bendith i’r ddau ar eu tandem.

Here a happy and complete gang
We end our poetic gift
Long live their love
We toast this union
And  we bless these two one their tandem.

At last I have been able to scan some photos.
