All the festivities started on the Friday night. I met up with Catrin to get food and drink for the evening, and by the end there was a good gang of us: Ellen (Catrin's sister and bridesmaid), Stephanie (Matt's sister and Catrin's future sister-in-law), Catherine (Matt's brother Daniel's girlfriend), Gill (wife of best man Gav) Alison (one of Matt's friend's from college), me and Catrin.
We had planned on having a bbq in the garden, but the forecast was for rain. Did we let this stop us? Of course not! We had a good laugh cooking in the kitchen, chopping this, mixing that, and I'm not scared to admit that I did boss a few people around!
"Nigella (Lawson) would be proud of us!" as someone said as we all cooked in the kitchen.
We were rather sensible that night, being very civilized in my opinion, sitting around and chatting away.
